One electrical, two temperature. The difference between the two dry block ranges is whether the instrument also reads the sensor you are calibrating.
Multifunction Process Calibrator
A handheld that sources and measures voltage, current, millivolts, resistance, frequency, thermocouples and RTDs, so one instrument replaces a current source, a voltage source, a resistance box and a frequency meter on a site visit.
Dry Block Temperature Calibrators
Five dry blocks covering −30 °C to 1200 °C. The block is the reference, so RTDs, thermocouples, thermistors and liquid-in-glass sensors are checked without a stirred bath.
Advanced Dry Block Temperature Calibrators
The same dry block with a measurement front end built in. Reference PRT and thermocouple channels, mA, mV, V and resistance measurement and a 24 V loop supply, so the sensor under test is read by the instrument generating the temperature.
The range is fixed at manufacture on every dry block, so pick the model that spans your set points with margin at both ends. A DBC-650 cannot be re-blocked to reach 1200 °C later.
A plain dry block gives you a temperature. The DBC-A reads the sensor under test on its own reference channels at the same time, which is what a traceable record needs without a second instrument on the bench.
The whole sensing element and a length of stem should sit inside the uniform zone. Depths run from 135 mm to 165 mm, and the aperture pattern in the soaking block is specified when you order.
If you are calibrating transmitters, indicators and loops rather than sensors in a well, the GPS-925 handheld sources and measures the signals directly and is sealed to IP67 for site work.
