For AWGs, ensure the sample rate is at least 2.5–5× your highest output frequency for good waveform fidelity. For spectrum analysers, choose bandwidth/span and DANL to match the signals you need to see.

DANL (Displayed Average Noise Level) sets the noise floor of the analyser. Lower DANL lets you resolve weaker signals. Pre-amps and narrower RBW can improve it.
