Bench Power Supplies — FAQs
Linear supplies offer very low ripple/noise and fast transient response; switchers are lighter and more efficient. For sensitive analog/RF, choose linear; for high power, consider switching.
Allow 20–30% margin above your expected maximum load to avoid current limiting during transients and startup inrush.
CC, CV, CR and CP modes cover most tests. Look for dynamic/current slew specs if you need transient tests; for batteries, check capacity (Ah/Wh) and cutoff settings.
