The same signal captured at 8-bit and at 12-bit. The extra vertical resolution separates real signal detail from quantisation noise, which is what makes accurate power supply ripple measurement and engine control unit diagnostics possible.
Up to 100 Mpts means you can capture a long, low-frequency or transient event and still zoom in without losing detail. More samples retained also means the accuracy and stability of measurement results improve.
Serial decode, power analysis, loop response and mixed-signal work are all handled on the same instrument.
Edge, slope, delay, setup/hold, runt, window, pattern, video and Nth edge, plus serial bus triggering. Decodes I²C, SPI and UART for embedded work and CAN and LIN for automotive, presenting bus traffic as a readable table rather than raw edges.
Four independent math traces and a 2 Mpts FFT — against the usual 16 kpts — effectively turning the scope into a spectrum analyser. Multiple window functions, averaging and max-hold modes, peak detection and automatic stray-frequency marking, plus a user-defined formula editor.
With the optional DPB5000 series voltage probe and CP6000 series current probe, analyses 12 parameters including power quality, current harmonics, inrush current and transient response — removing the manual configuration and formula work these measurements normally require.
Bode plot comes as standard. Paired with the isolated signal generator option or an arbitrary waveform generator, it produces a frequency response curve for the device under test, giving gain and phase at every frequency point for stability assessment.
The optional SLA1016 logic analyser probe adds 16 digital channels without giving up any analogue capability, so mixed-signal acquisition happens on one instrument and analogue-to-digital timing problems can be traced end to end.
A 7″ capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch gesture support and a redesigned interface speeds up day-to-day operation. Also accepts mouse control, and the full instrument can be driven remotely from a browser over LAN.
