GPS-3303X / GPS-3303DPX

Programmable DC Power Supply

GPS-3303X and GPS-3303DPX Programmable DC Power Supplies

220 W · 2 × 0–32 V at 0–3.2 A · 1 mV or 10 mV resolution

Two supplies that differ in one thing: how finely they set and read back. Both give 220 W across three isolated channels with a 4.3 inch display that plots as well as reads, panel timing, and USB and LAN answering SCPI. The GPS-3303X resolves ten times finer than the GPS-3303DPX.

Two models, one difference

Everything below the resolution line is common to both. The GPS-3303X sets and reads ten times finer, and that is the whole of the choice.

In series and in parallel the channels are linked internally and CH1 sets the pair. Series is limited to 60 V, which is less than twice a single channel.

What the display gives you

A display that plots

Not just numbers
Output is drawn against time on the 4.3 inch screen as it runs, so a droop under load or a step at switch-on is seen rather than inferred from a reading that moved while you were not looking.

Panel timing

Programmed output, no PC
Five timing profiles are stored and stepped through from the front panel. A repeatable power-up sequence becomes a button press rather than a procedure someone has to follow correctly.

Five stored setups

Recalled in one action
Each memory holds the operating mode as well as the voltage and current, and the internal store can be extended externally.

Fine and coarse

A knob, arrows and a Fine key
Arrow keys pick the digit, the knob changes it, and Fine drops to the smallest step the model offers: 1 mV and 1 mA on the GPS-3303X.

A switchable logic rail

2.5 V, 3.3 V or 5 V at 3.2 A
The third output is not fixed at 5 V. A switch selects the rail, so 3.3 V logic is available without a regulator on the bench. Tolerance is ± 8%.

Quiet when it can be

Temperature-controlled fan
The fan follows the heatsink rather than running flat out, so a lightly loaded supply is a quiet one. That matters more on a teaching bench than anywhere.

In an automated rack

USB and LAN are both fitted as standard, and the instrument answers SCPI, so it can be driven and interrogated by a test script rather than by hand.

USB and LAN, both fitted

Not one or the other
A USB device port and an Ethernet port as standard, so the instrument can sit on a bench tethered to a laptop or in a rack on the network.

SCPI command set

Set, measure, switch, and change mode
Select a channel, set or query voltage and current, read back what is being delivered, switch outputs, and move between independent, series and parallel, all remotely.

Software and drivers

Including LabVIEW
Control software and a LabVIEW driver are available, so the supply drops into an existing test framework rather than needing one built around it.

Regulation and accuracy

Before you order

Series gives 60 V, not 64

The channels do not simply add
Two 32 V channels in series reach 60 V, not 64. If your work needs the last four volts, this is not the supply for it, and it is worth checking before a test procedure is written around the wrong number.

Which model do you need?

Resolution and accuracy, nothing else
The GPS-3303X resolves to 1 mV and 1 mA and holds ±(0.03% of reading + 10 mV); the GPS-3303DPX resolves to 10 mV and 10 mA at ±(0.5% + 2 digits). Everything else, including every regulation figure, is identical.

It runs on any mains you have

100, 120, 220 or 230 V
The same instrument suits a UK bench, a European one or a North American one, which matters if equipment moves between sites.
