Reference diagrams — TM-5210 measurement setups
Contact mode
- Fit the surface wheel (or cone tip) firmly to the TM-5210.
- Bring the wheel to the rotating surface with steady pressure.
- Hold the instrument aligned with the axis; read stable RPM.
Tip: Avoid slip — use the surface wheel on clean, dry rubber/metal; use the cone tip for small shafts.
Non-contact (laser/photo) mode
- Apply a small reflective strip (≈10×10 mm) on a clean spot.
- Aim the laser at the strip from 50–2500 mm; hold steady.
- Ensure only one reflective segment passes per revolution.
Tip: Reduce ambient glare; keep the beam perpendicular to the tape; increase distance for very high RPM.
