52 mm jaw · 1000 A · CAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600 V
Two auto-ranging clamp meters with a 2 inch jaw, wide enough for the cable sizes found on distribution boards, motor feeds and switchgear. Current reads to 1000 A without breaking the circuit, and a full multimeter, including capacitance and frequency, sits behind the same dial.
True RMS, DC current and temperature on the GPS-275 · non-contact voltage detector on both · TÜV Rheinland GS certified
GPS-275 · AC/DC true RMS
A digital multimeter will not carry 1000 A. A clamp reads it from outside the insulation, with nothing disconnected and nothing in series, and on these two the rest of the multimeter comes with it.
Takes the cable sizes found on distribution boards, motor feeds and switchgear, up to 1000 A.
AC voltage and AC current measured true RMS, for the distorted waveforms drives and switch-mode loads produce.
The GPS-275 measures DC to 1000 A and nulls the display first, which matters at the bottom of the range.
A detector above the jaw gives a live check before anything is touched, on both models.
The GPS-275 takes a K-type probe, supplied, so a hot joint or bearing is read with the same instrument.
The GPS-275 captures motor starting current and shows a 41-segment analogue bargraph alongside the digits.
Same jaw, same case, same 4000-count display and the same CAT rating. The GPS-275 adds the functions you need when the work is not purely AC.
| Model | Current | True RMS | Capture | Temperature | Frequency | Part no. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPS-212 | AC | — | — | — | 10 MHz | 460212 |
| GPS-275 | AC and DC | Yes | Peak hold · 41-segment bargraph | To 1000 °C | 4 kHz | 464275 |
Note the frequency range runs the other way: the GPS-212 carries the wider 10 MHz counter, while the GPS-275 is limited to 4 kHz. If you count frequency above a few kilohertz, the AC-only model is the one that does it.

Switchgear, motor feeds and panel maintenance where currents run to hundreds of amps.
Installation testing, fault finding and commissioning across commercial and residential work.
Wind and PV installations, where DC string current and AC inverter output are both in scope.
Battery, charging and traction circuits, with DC current and the zero function on the GPS-275.
Compressor and fan currents, capacitor checks and temperature on the GPS-275.
The GPS-212 does not measure temperature or DC current, and the temperature probe is supplied only with the GPS-275. Both models measure voltage to 600 V; the CAT III 1000 V rating describes the transient environment the instrument is built to survive, not a measurement range.
